A FEW MINUTES OF PREPARATION

Make the connection.

Install the agent on your own computer, link it to your account, and check what protection your setup supports.

SELF WIPE AGENT · VERSION 0.1.0

Install on macOS.

Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. The agent connects your machine and supports command simulations. Full-machine erasure requires an Apple management enrollment that this release does not provide.

This platform currently supports enrollment and simulation.Installing the agent does not enable remote erasure on this operating system.

1. Download and inspect the installer

Open Terminal. Download the installer and read it before granting administrator access. The installer downloads the correct binary, verifies its checksum, enrolls your device, and installs the background service.

TERMINAL
curl -fsS https://selfwipe.mattmade.ai/install.sh -o /tmp/selfwipe-install.sh
less /tmp/selfwipe-install.sh

Then run the installer:

TERMINAL
sudo bash /tmp/selfwipe-install.sh

2. Approve your device

The installer displays an approval link and an enrollment code. Open the link, sign in with your Mattmade account, and approve the code. Save the one-time erase authorization code somewhere you can access from another device.

Open dashboard

3. Verify the connection

Check local status and ask the background agent to check in. In your dashboard, select Manage → Run simulation. Wait for the device acknowledgment in its command history.

TERMINAL
sudo selfwipe-agent status
sudo selfwipe-agent check

A simulation confirms that commands can reach the agent. It does not perform erasure or verify your ability to erase the disk.

Prefer the binary?

Direct downloads are available for manual installation. These files do not install or start a service by themselves. Verify the downloaded file against the published checksums.

Stop or remove the agent

Unload the launch daemon, then remove its service definition and binary. Private enrollment state is retained.

TERMINAL
sudo launchctl bootout system/ai.mattmade.selfwipe
sudo rm /Library/LaunchDaemons/ai.mattmade.selfwipe.plist /usr/local/bin/selfwipe-agent

After stopping the service, the machine no longer checks for commands. Contact support if you need help removing an enrollment.
